GENIE token FAQ

GENIE is the planned utility token for Journal Genie rewards. Mainnet claims are not live until deployment, audit, and launch gates are complete. GENIE is NOT equity, NOT a security, NOT a profit-share, NOT a promise of future yield. Anyone framing GENIE as an investment is misrepresenting what it is.

Open /rewards while signed in. When claims are live and you have at least one reward in claimable status, you will see the claim flow there. We plan to support EVM-compatible wallets on Base (MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow, and WalletConnect-supporting wallets).

Claims are designed not to expire. There is no rush: once claims are live, you can wait until you have multiple rewards accrued and claim them through the published claim flow.

Any EVM wallet that supports Base. At launch, claims are planned for Base mainnet (chain id 8453), not Ethereum mainnet. Wallets like MetaMask add Base support via the Base network configuration. If your wallet does not support Base, you can connect a different wallet whenever you are ready.

When claiming is live, you will pay Base network gas in ETH. Journal Genie does not charge a separate claim fee. Gas costs are usually low on Base, but they are variable and outside Journal Genie's control.

If you lose access to the wallet you used to claim, the GENIE in that wallet is lost to you — Journal Genie cannot recover it. This is true of every self-custodial wallet, not just for GENIE. Before claiming, make sure you have a secure backup of the wallet's seed phrase or recovery method.

Then you never have to. Rewards stay in your account as claimable-but-unclaimed. Your Journal Genie experience does not change. You can use Journal Genie indefinitely without ever connecting a wallet.

Journal Genie has not arranged any exchange listing and makes no promise that GENIE will be listed. Whether GENIE eventually trades on a decentralized exchange (Uniswap, etc.) depends on third-party market makers, not us. We do not provide trading advice and we do not commit to any future listing path.

We do not know, and we will never tell you. GENIE has no guaranteed value, no floor price, no buyback program. Treat any third party who promises GENIE will go up as a fraud signal.

No. Read the privacy policy for the full picture, but the short version: your journal, notebooks, sources, survey answers, and chat history stay private to your account.

GENIE rewards are a separate utility mechanism — they are NOT paid in exchange for permission to sell your data.

Tax treatment of utility tokens varies by jurisdiction and your personal situation. Journal Genie does not provide tax advice. Consider consulting a tax professional in your jurisdiction before claiming a meaningful amount of GENIE.

If the Pauser Safe is exercised after launch (e.g., during an active incident), claims will be temporarily unavailable. Your earned rewards are NOT lost — claims will resume once the underlying issue is resolved. The site banner + the status page will show the current state.

After deployment, contract addresses and verified source will be linked from the /rewards page and the public deployment materials. The full deployment manifest and Foundry test suite live in our public repo under contracts/.
